Longfellow Community Council services the Longfellow, Howe, Hiawatha, and Cooper neighborhoods. Their mission is to improve the quality of life, develop a sense of community, and promote the social and economic well-being of the people and businesses in their service area.
HOLOS created a complete brand identity package that included designing and sourcing promotional items. Staff was given brand usage guidelines and all the elements they need to redesign their website and pursue other projects independently.
The Longfellow Community Council wanted an updated logo that more accurately reflected the vibrancy and diversity of the community. It was important to them that the logo recognized all four of the neighborhoods they serviced and that the images be inspired by landmarks within their borders.
Artist Corinna Quist-Chiba sketched local landmarks and placed them in a logo that is colorful and eye-catching. This identity package is very flexible allowing them to highlight specific neighborhoods and features as projects require.
HOLOS also designed and sourced T-shirts, totes, stickers, business cards, stationery, and neighborhood signs.
Because of the distinct artistic style, color palette, and font different elements of the logo can be used individually without losing their connection to the Longfellow Community Council.
The new brand identity was revealed at their annual meeting to great fanfare. T-shirts, totes, and stickers featuring the new brand are being sold to raise money for the organization. They worked with Planet Claire Creative to update their website with their new brand identity and soon “Welcome” signs and posters will be popping up throughout the area.
Longfellow Community Council now has a distinct brand identity that reflects the diverse area they serve, and the strong sense of community enjoyed by its neighborhood residents.
